The Orangery, Loventor Manor

The Guest Book

When we set up The Orangery in early 2009 we wanted it to be the sort of place where we ourselves would love to come and stay – somewhere meticulously clean, well presented and which lived up to (or beyond) its description: somewhere very comfortable with, hopefully, a bit of a “wow” factor.

Have we succeeded?  Who better to ask than those who have come to stay at The Orangery. These are some of their comments taken from our visitors’ book:

"What an honour to be the first to stay in such a beautiful, idyllic place as this.  It has simply been the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway."

" The Orangery has lived up to your description and more ... beautiful location and the charming accommodation has given us a holiday to remember."

"A lovely place to spend our first family holiday.  The location and surrounding area is perfect..."

"The aim ... to explore Devon.  However The Orangery is so homely and peaceful we spent the mornings in admiring the views and listening to the silence!!"

"One of the most relaxing places we have ever stayed in.  Great accommodation, fantastic views, everything you could possibly want..."

"The Orangery is spot-on and we celebrated our first Wedding Anniversary in style – an ideal place..."

"This place truly is a hidden gem and totally blew us away.  Andy & Barbara are lovely hosts making us feel very welcome..."

"This has been the perfect place to start our married life together..."

"Enjoyable evenings on the patio, glass of wine in hand, listening to the birdsong..."

"Thanks go out to Andy & Barbara for sharing this lovely 'orange' jewel in the Devonshire countryside.  So comfortable and peaceful! We are totally relaxed ... whole heartedly recommend it as a wonderful place to stay..."

And the appeal has proved to be right across the board – from young couples to octogenarians and many in between: from walkers to those seeking more leisurely pursuits (or no pursuits at all!):  from 'special occasions' to “we just need a holiday”.
Of course we rarely know in advance why our guests come or exactly what they’re looking for, so it’s a challenge to fulfil all expectations and unlikely that we’ll always succeed. And, of course, we can’t guarantee the Devon weather!
